Root canal treatment is dental procedure that is usually performed when your teeth are infected or badly decayed.
Root canal treatment has three stages and usually requires 2-3 visits .The first stage, consists of removing or flashing out the nerve (pulp) and bacteria with disinfectants. The second stage, consist of cleaning and shaping the root canals with special instruments. Finally, at third stage, the dental canals get filled and sealed
A root canal treatment is used to save a tooth and prevent the infection from spreading. However, the tooth becomes brittle and susceptible to fracture. Therefore, once root canal treatment is completed a crown is usually then placed over the tooth to increase its strength.
The success rate of a root canal treatment is very high (90-95%). However, you must be regular to your dentist and have a very good oral hygiene.
